Throughout its history, Berkeley Preparatory School has thrived as a result of the support of thousands of donors. This involvement helped the school 开发 into the respected and beloved educational institution that it is today. Berkeley is an independent school and does not receive local or federal tax dollars. 事实上, Berkeley is entirely dependent on revenue from tuition and the generosity of our current and past parents, 爷爷奶奶, 校友, 教师, and community friends through private gifts.
The Office of Institutional Advancement is dedicated to raising funds to ensure that Berkeley maintains the 完整性 of its academic environment. Early childhood and elementary education are so important because a love of lifelong learning can be nurtured and 开发ed in line with Berkeley’s core values. We had an incredible opportunity to be a positive multiplier, impacting generations to come. Creating an environment for our exceptional teachers to thrive can only help them be their very best every day, not to mention help Berkeley recruit more great teachers. At the end of the day, it’s the dedicated and passionate teachers that make the difference.给予至关重要, as tuition covers basic operations, and that’s important for the community to understand. Moving to our current campus in 1979, building new buildings, and having an endowment requires additional investment on behalf of the entire community. 辛西娅·希斯, who currently lives in Charlotte, is a proud supporter of Berkeley and served as Grandparent Chair for the 2021-22 school year.我已故的丈夫, 大卫, and I believed that education is the 太l that breaks down all barriers, for both the individual and in our society. We strived to provide the best educational opportunities for our two girls. As a grandparent, I think it is just as important to support our grandchildren in the same way. We understand that tuition alone cannot support the needs of the school and its students. Giving to the Berkeley Fund ensures that both expected and unexpected needs can be met. Further, we believe capital improvements enhance the educational experiences of our grandchildren. One of my philanthropic principles is to support organizations that help improve the communities in which my children and grandchildren live because a better community for all is a better place for them as well. To be able to contribute, 哪怕是一点点, to a place like Berkeley is something I never give a second thought to because of all the amazing things the school does for each student and 教师 member to help everyone be successful. You don’t have to look far to see the results of the support. 一切, including the furniture in the classrooms, the instruments and 音乐 equipment in the orchestra, the band and choir rooms, and the digital side of things—all of it contributes to making each student and teacher successful, as well as making every place on campus comfortable and beautiful.
